At CSC, we believe in respecting human rights and our planet. We want to enable people and the planet to thrive, by proactively utilizing environmental, social, and governance sustainability initiatives, which support local and global engagement.

Through living our values of being genuine and encouraging teamwork as part of the services we provide to our clients and communities, we’ve chosen three core philanthropic pillars on which to base our sustainable development goals. These are areas where we can positively impact the world around us, in environmental, social, and governance practices.

  4. The very nature of our business enables us to minimize the impact on the environment by reporting digitally. Fund administration, corporate secretary, and the majority of our services have traditionally involved reams of paperwork. We encourage a “paperless office” where possible in the fund services space and continue to assess and review efficiencies of scale on proprietary and third-party technology on a global basis. We look for new technologies to improve our business infrastructure while reducing our carbon footprint and environmental impact. We actively support sustainability within our owned office spaces through environmental initiatives including several green roof areas, planting more than 500 trees, creating a four-acre native vegetation meadow and storm water control, and collecting rainwater. Additionally, buildings include high-performance glazing and daylight harvesting, and programmable LED lighting. Our ultimate aim is to further enhance our existing positive environmental impact.

  6. We take the provision of a secure, reliable, and compliant reporting service very seriously in every jurisdiction. We have robust IT, information, data security, risk, governance, and compliance departments and place great importance on global oversight across CSC. Adhering to regulations and protecting our clients’ interests are fundamental, not only to our success but to maintaining integrity as a business.

  7. Make ESG sustainability a factor in our choice of service providers and our ability to win new business.

As part of our ongoing evaluation of service providers, we conduct due diligence of their operations, procedures, and values related to our own guiding principles and ethical, social, and governance standards. We look to attract clients who also want to work with socially responsible and ethical businesses. As ESG strategies increase in popularity across the asset management space, we want to ensure that CSC is the fund administrator of choice. Our goal is to deliver the most advanced ESG reporting services to ethically driven funds and to live Our Values through ESG sustainability activities and initiatives across our locations.

  10. We recognize the traditional financial services industry does not have the best reputation for ethical standards or morals-based decision-making. We are committed to changing that perception and demonstrating that we want to empower social change agents. We will maintain a transparent and proactive approach and hold ourselves to the highest standards in benefiting people, society, and the environment. CSC gives back through encouraging and supporting social initiatives and staff engagement in local communities across our geographic footprint, providing flexibility to maximise engagement and charity work. CSC employees have contributed to more than 150 causes worldwide and have dedicated thousands of hours of their time to help our communities. CSC embeds these sustainable values into performance management, ensuring our purpose to make our communities better off tomorrow than they are today.
